Montlake Playfield Park

Love this play field and park right on portage shore it's amazing they have the best recreation facilities

Lot of swings and slides. No off leash area but good for dog walking. Some construction affecting access to playground from parking lot

Great place right across water from UW and secluded amongst the city. Has water front trails (and views), as well as open fields, playground, tennis courts, football field. Relaxing by water, even with events on the other side.

Wonderful park with an incredible playground. My only major critique is the playground safety surfacing is wood chips and can create some splinters or scratches. They have one field turf play field with a couple small aluminum bleachers underneath the shade of some corkscrew willow trees. The track around the field is decomposed granite nice for walking but can kick up some dust. Lots of open space and the Community Center and restrooms is nice. If you are going to the play area or the sports field, it is better to park along the street rather than in the parking lot.

Montlake Playfield offers a scenic and accessible pickleball experience with two outdoor courts available for free play on a first-come basis. While it doesn’t have dedicated pickleball nets, the courts are well maintained.

Walt Hundley Playfield Park

Wonderful neighborhood park setting, 4 pickleball courts, fully fenced in, surrounded on 2 sides with a gentle grassy hill viewing area with a number of shade trees.  I bet these courts are always busy!

Great location for pickleball. Usually four courts going, and generally at intermediate to advanced levels. But, all abilities play there.

Usually can get some fun pickleball matches in with fellow pickleball enthusiasts most time of the day. Courts are in generally decent shape. Primarily best for intermediate levels (3.0 to 4.0).

Walt Hundley Playfield provides a free and accessible outdoor pickleball experience with basic amenities. It's ideal for casual play and community engagement, but lacks specific training programs or equipment rentals.

Magnolia Playfield Park

We love coming here on beautiful sunny days like today. Easy access and plenty of parking around the area. My daughter loves the sandpit and the swings. Plenty of great places to eat as well nearby.

We had a great time! Weather had cooled off, music was awesome! Food for all tastes, definitely recommend!

Green Lake Pickleball Courts East

Not from the area but just showed up to the park to play some pickleball and there was about 70 people at the courts. If you’re looking for a spot to get some pickup games against all different levels then this is the place. Parking was terrible though. Kept going in circles for 20 minutes trying to find a spot and then finally parked up the road. Great park!

Great pickleball community! Players range from 2.5 to 4.5+ and the stacking system is based on level (beginner, intermediate, advanced). 8 courts in the summer and open play is pretty much all day until dusk. Can get super busy on summer evenings.

Beautiful courts that are used 24/7 for pickleball, so if you’re trying to play tennis this isn’t the best place to try. There’s 8 courts here, and there’s typically 5-10 paddle stacks down for next game. It gets 8+ after 4:30 M-F so you might only get about 3 games/hr. As busy as it gets, it’s not too hard to find parking. The lake and facility are beautiful but if you actually want to get reps in, it does get crowded

Parking can be a real issue, but the advantage is that you can find players of all different levels here, especially when the weather is good. The surroundings are nice too.

Gilman Playground

Great park.  How if you are a dog owner please pick up after your dog. There not aloud there but people bring them anyways. I don't mind except when they don't pick up their poop and we get to step in it

This cleaned- up park contains 2 ball fields with lots of green space behind and beside. In the spring, it's been comfortable just watching ball teams of young players. In the corner, far from the ball games, is a nicely developed play for the younger crowd.
In another corner are 4 tennis courts--now apparently taken over by pickle ball.
Clearly intended as a venue for locals, the park doesn't appear to have much nearby on-střeet parking. There's construction , of course,  but  if it's the usual single-bedroom apartments,  there probably won't be the kids to outfit those baseball teams needed for those 2 fields. Of course, none of the 4 teams we saw square off there in late April was from nearby communities either. There are some 40 baseball teams in Ballard.

I go here for pickleball, it is a good crowd of friendly people. It is hard to find parking in this rapidly growing high density neighborhood, so you may have to walk a few blocks. This park also has baseball fields and a small playground.
Restrooms are closed all winter.

A good place for children and teenagers. There are sports facilities and playgrounds for sports.

Brighton Playfield

I love this park. It has everything. The kids can play on everything from swings, toys, multiple fields and a dino discovery sandbox where they can practice being paleontologists. BBQ set ups throughout. Bathrooms, and parking. Enjoy 💚

Oh boy! The revamped Brighton Playfield is a real joy to visit, except following Independence Day, when it's a wasteland of burnt, crispy fireworks residue. The new fields are great, the walking paths are delightful, and the playground equipment looks just dandy from a safe distance. And on foggy nights, Brighton Playfield is foggy-plus.

Ballard Community Center

An awesome community center with lots of gyms and courts, free programs, long hours, free WiFi, a public open playing area for kiddos with blocks and trains and more!

I like this community center.  I go there often.  My children love going there.  We  always find fun shit to do.

Lots of space for little kids to run around and go nuts. An array of toys and different fun rooms to play in.

My kids go here after school and they love it. They have so much fun that they don't like being picked up early! The staff is super friendly and sweet. The building and the adjacent park are very clean and well cared for. Except for the occasional (or sometimes a brief resident) houseless person sleeping outside.

These courts were open and only a few other people were trying to play on them on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

A beautiful park that looks amazing no matter the time of day or season.

I've come here even during mid-winter and all you need is a heavy scarf and a pair of gloves to keep you warm from the stinging cold. This park is especially beautiful in the spring time and I highly recommend anyone sight-seeing in Seattle to stop by here!

These tennis courts are currently closed by Seattle Parks due to COVID-19 measures... what a bummer!

Pickleball courts use the tennis nets at this location.  Folks move the nets up and down depending on if it's Tennis or Pickleball.  This means nets are not quite right, even when lowered, for pickleball.

Rainier Beach Playfield

Huge playground with multiple different structures including multiple slides, zip line, rope climbing structure, and ball fields.

Outdoor playground is right outside. Big space for kids to run around and a cool zip line for the kids.

Pools: there were several lifeguards rotating every 30 minutes or so keeping good eye out and upholding rules of the pool with authority. Two jumbo pools, slide, sauna, hot tub available.

Cost for the 1hr is cheap $4.50 per child and $6.50 per adult as of today! 10/10 recommend especially if you're looking for cheap nice safe family fun!

This is a pretty big park with a lot to offer. There are a couple of big fields, tennis courts and a community center with a pool! The play area and fitness area aren't super big but very well kept and even the public toilets look clean. Great place for the community to gather and have some fun.

Just like I remember when I was a kid. Love that the same trees have grown so big and massive. The sports area and field are still kept up and clean. I miss this park, I'm gonna visit more. Great place for my doggies.

Green Lake Park

An extremely pleasant community park and lake that reminds me significantly of Memorial Park in my hometown, Colorado Springs, only significantly nicer. Certainly Colorado does not have towering sequoias lining the water, with lower limbs as thick as the trunks of many trees. I can imagine one climbing quite high in these trees without too much difficulty, as the branches are sturdy and unyielding, nourished by centuries of Northwestern waters. The lake is  almost supernaturally placid, and the view from one side to the other glows with idyllic bliss. I do not think this should be the first place you visit if you only have a few days in Seattle, but if you live here or have an extended visit, Green Lake and its park comprise an oasis.

This is one of my favorite places for running during sunset in the summer.  The inner loop is around 2.8 miles, relatively flat and not too crowded for runs.  It's also great for walks and people watching.

One of my favorite parks by water to walk around. Fairly flat so great for all skill levels and wheelchair friendly, with the exception of the bathrooms that have stairs. Parking hasn't been problematic for me but could be challenging when the park is busier. If you're like me, with a tendency to lose track of time talking/ walking, be sure to drop a pin or use your timeline to find your way back around to your car. 😆 Beautiful place to sit on a dock, walk, see animals.. Seen an owl on my last trip here. ❤️

Georgetown Playfield

Fun spray pad and playground. We came here on a hot Tuesday afternoon and there were only two other families with two kids each enjoying the park. The playfield is still fenced in with turf replacement ongoing. There are porta potties, benches, picnic tables and a shelter for park goers. Playground parking is limited but on street spots seem plentiful throughout the time we were there.

The playground is right under the flight path of planes heading to and out of King County Airport and SeaTac. It was fun watching planes as they boomed by.

Highly recommend!

Nice place to take your kids.  Has been renovated  and bathroom, at least females, has warm water.

This park was great- even during construction when the play field's turf is being replaced. There was hardly anyone in the spray park on one of the hottest days of the year. Nice and shady, plenty of benches, lots of parking.

Spray park great for hot summers. Planes over head and trains passing by makes this one of the louder playgrounds, but our 3 year old seems to enjoy them!

Laurelhurst Playfield

Absolutely wonderful place to bring just yourself and / or your family! First time visiting, and I was a bit nervous taking my child by myself. After reaching the fields I was accepting, but then once we reached the bathrooms, I was rather impressed. I normally will not use them. However, the non gender bathrooms were very clean. I only throw in the non gender bathrooms so people know that they have them, and also, they're single bathrooms that are rather large. The playground is well maintained, with plenty of interactive structures. Several benches for all the adults and plenty of clean tables to use. Tennis courts and more

Delridge Playfield

It's a decent park, but compared to others close by its below par. My daughter did get to watch the kids at the skate park and she loved that. There's also a community center on site that was closed at the time.

It's not the nicest looking park could use some more flowers however it is very functional and spacious. The skate area is large with a variety of options for all skill levels, even a pro skater would have a good time here. There's lots of stickers in various stages of decomposition which makes it interesting, colorful and adds to the appeal. I didn't see any weirdos or vagabonds hanging out which is rare for parks these days, and not much trash either. There's a murual across the street that caught my attention and hardly any graffiti.

Really nice to see it getting it's use with sports teams. Not a fan of people thinking this is a off leash dog park. Makes it hard to walk my leashed dogs around it, as mine are little and leashed. There is leash law in Seattle and this is a Sports field. Please be respectful if you do take your dogs here.

Cal Anderson Park

We really enjoyed our afternoon at this park. There is a farmers market on Sunday, so we got to enjoy that and then took our babe to the playground, which was basically empty. There were lots of dogs playing off leash, and the playground with slides, swings, and a see saw was super clean.

Beautiful tranquil little park just west of the downtown area of Seattle, in an eclectic neighborhood of diverse people. Really enjoyable for dogs and soccer players. Or just laying out.

Nice park. The fountain is pretty dope. There was a guy brushing his teeth and yelling at me from the restroom. Kept calling me "Bill".

Update: in the years since I first posted this review a lot of things have happened here. It's still the best park in the city to catch up with old friends.

Yesler Community Center

Great community center.  It is a bright, welcoming place.  Restrooms are clean.  The surrounding splash park and play area looks like good fun for kids.  There is a lot of construction happening nearby.

New playground is fantastic.  Multiple structures for all ages. Lots of slides, ropes, and hills! Public family restroom attached to the community center facing the playground. Beautiful views of downtown Seattle as well. Be aware it does get busy after 4pm on weekdays when all the after school programs get out, if you want or need to avoid crowds. For transportation, there is a First Hill Streetcar stop and a bus stop directly in front of the community center, and a small parking lot hidden at the south end of the center.

Nice little community center some not all but some friendly staff members are great the others are unfortunately rude need I not mention but you'll see for yourselves hopefully you don't but if you do let's just say that the entire time I've been going since i moved here 4 years ago not once had I ever been told that there's a certain time that the public isn't allowed there due to school activities. I've been there plenty of times while functions were going on but a few days ago I was told to leave or I'll be banned if I don't comply.  I just needed to charge my phone and the hours listed on the front door say nothing about the public not being allowed after a certain time.  I was told to leave 3 hours before closing time for school activities had begun.  Is that a new policy because I didn't see that posted outside the front door or been told by staff members.  That's until this older gentleman had yelled at me in front of everybody. I was and am still completely embarrassed to even show my face in there again after that.   Other then that it gets 4 stars for being clean and having ok staff.  Good luck to all that read this and go in. Hope your experience is better then mine

Mount Baker Park

Super nice park and lake! They have it all here, including tennis courts, a stream garden, a nice wooden playground, a pretty lengthy dock for fishing, and of course lots and lots of beach for swimming (which is my dog's favorite part for sure🙂)! I'm other words this place is the best and highly recommended!!

Bitter Lake Playfield

Had a great walkable look that's around a third of a mile. Beautiful views of the lake!

This is a great place to play for the whole family! Lots of different play equipment, wading pool, sandbox, tennis courts, and baseball fields are all in this great area, plus you can walk over to the edge of Bitter lake itself and see the Canadian geese.

Nice place with a little bit of everything there. Playing fields, wading pool, playground, tennis courts and a Community Center. Very relaxing and invigorating place to go alone or to bring your kids!

It's not as bad as I originally expected considering the overwhelming amount of homeless in the areas I was thinking it was going to be overtaken by homeless camps and homeless people in the parking lot or all over but no actually wasn't bad. My dog had a blast here chasing the geese and running around the big grassy field other than the goose poop it was actually pretty well kept no trash all over the place like a long the sidewalks. Overall it was actually a very pleasant experience and it was pretty busy lots of people walking dogs or just getting out and walking around. Not bad at all it's not a very exciting place to go but it definitely exceeded my expectations.

Small and compact community park on the hill with a baseball field, a small playground and a wading pool, a basketball court and tennis courts. There are also public restrooms, which are clean and well maintained. A good place for kids and adults alike to enjoy.

Love our neighborhood playground. Great place for bikes, playing catch, running on a field. Hope that COVID will be gone this summer so the wading pool will open again🤞🏼

Maple Leaf Reservoir Park

08/04/23: it is a beautiful, local, and clean park with many playgrounds: baseball, basketball, soccer, etc. You can find the children’s playground on the east side of the park. The park is huge with two levels. The upper level has fields for kids and some small trails. The lower level has a baseball field. I enjoyed running through this peaceful and calm park. Highly suggest people coming here

Wonderful park with a paved walkway and boardwalk completely around the clearest, cold water lake you can imagine and beautiful views if the mountains. This is a place to relax and enjoy the mountain air, or you can find paths to the summit and get a workout.  I was with my grandsons,  four and two years of age, and rhey walked the entirety of the loop path around the lake finding plenty of interesting things to catch their imagination and test their physical strength. There is a large picnic area with plenty of tables and a breathtaking view .  I returned very calm from zhe experience.

Not enough benches for parents, bathrooms are old and dirty and run down.  But playground is nice and the walking area has a beautiful view you can't beat. Zipp line is fun.

On a sunny day, there’s a great view of the mountains. If you are looking for a nice place to walk or run there’s a concrete circle surrounding the grass area. It does get crowded though so it’s not really the best place to bring your bike, e-scooter, or skateboard.
